fleetwoods a hamlet?

Fleetwood has retained its small town feeling along with the shopping enclave. And the City of MV and developers are trying to destroy the only piece of Mount Vernon that has been preserved.

sounds relevant to pelham....

and we will lose more jobs and businesses in Fleetwood if the City Council of Mount Vernon gets away with granting the Special Permit and Rezoning of our 4 corner hamlet. There is a City Council meeting tonight which was not very publicized about the proposed 18 story "Luxury High Rise" that will sit atop a multi-level mixed use retail building and will also include transfering the municipal parking lot to the developers. This project could put the surrounding businesses including the only Supermarket in Fleetwood out of business, it will infringe on the air rights/views of all the existing homes and Co-operatives and will cripple Fleetwood. How the Mayor is even considering such a development is heartwrenching..it will destroy Fleetwood !
