OK Freddy's Meat Market was closed twice in recent weeks for what the owner described as "minor violations," involving missing carbon monoxide detectors and fire extinguishers, according to News 12.

Mount Vernon Mayor Richard Thomas, who ordered the closures, believes the business poses a threat to the city, according to News 12.

Still, a state Supreme Court judge on Tuesday ordered that the city must cut locks placed on the meat market's doors and work with the business to address whatever violations may exist, according to News 12.
