The Westchester County Mobile Shredder will stop in Mount Vernon on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. so that residents can safely dispose of personal papers and documents.
The shredder will be in the municipal lot on 5th Avenue and 2nd Street.
Westchester County recommends residents shred pre-approved credit card applications, credit card bills, receipts, bank statements, old tax returns and other documents with identifying information.
Residents can bring a maximum of four file boxes to be shredded, and all paper must be free of clips and bindings. Officials will not shred bound or hardcover ledger books or paper generated by businesses, schools or other offices.
