Millions Of Time Warner Spectrum Subscribers Affected By Data Breach

The personal records of millions of Time Warner Spectrum Cable subscribers were exposed in recent weeks by one of the company's vendors on a cloud-based server, Kromtech Alliance Corp., a cybersecurity company, said in a blog post Friday.

Kromtech inadvertently made the discovery while investigating a data breach at World Wrestling Entertainment.

Databases revealed billing addresses, phone numbers, and other contact info as well as some internal company records, including emails.

Approximately four million customers who used MyTWC app were affected. The breach was linked to the company that developed the app, BroadSoft Inc.

Charter Communications purchased Time Warner last year and renamed it Spectrum.
