MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. – Small businesses in Mount Vernon will have the opportunity to prepare for the responsibilities associated with next year’s Affordable Care Act.
The Affordable Care Act, which goes into effect on Jan. 1, 2014, is legislation that ensures that all Americans have access to quality, affordable health care and significantly reduces long-term healthcare costs.
The Business Council of Westchester has teamed with the Community Service Society of New York to educate small business owners in the city about the requirements of the federal health reform law.
The organizations will be in Mount Vernon from 12 p.m. to 1:15 p.m. on June 4 and 25 at the Mount Vernon Public Library. They will also provide information on tax credits for small businesses that offer employee health insurance and offer an overview of the New York State Health Exchange.
